I started my crusade to protect little peoples eyes.  Simply, by just wanting to provide parents and carers access to quality safety glasses, that will fit their children.  But while the Children’s Safety Glasses website was under construction.  I started doing research into eye injuries, from accidents, sport and UV light.  After finding the scary statistics, I knew that the issue was much larger than initially anticipated and that my little website needed to grow.

Such that it now, provides quality eye protection for sports – including swimming (normal and prescription swimming goggles).  Quality sunglasses, that are difficult for children to break and easy to keep on babies heads.  It still has the Eyres, Bolle and Uvex safety glasses appropriate for little people’s heads.

As such a high percentage of accidental eye injuries are preventable and 20% or all eye injuries requiring hospitalisation come from sports.  I thought it was important to provide access to quality sporting eye protection equipment at a reasonable price.

So the next time your child plays sport, or is helping around the yard or is even just playing outside.  Please think about their vision and is it properly protected.

UV damage is cumulative not just to our skin.  Also to our eyes and is linked to cataract development, glaucoma and macular degeneration.  This can be avoided simply by following the Cancer Council’s tip of ‘Slide’ sliding on sunglasses.

I have found through my own children, that it is much easier to have sunglasses.  That are flexible have a lost and replacement warranty as my son broke his Bolle sunglasses within 30 minutes of starting to wear them.  I should mention this happened twice.  After these breakages, I did some research and found the Babiators and they have been a god send.  While still looking very cool and providing 100% UV protection.
