Kids and sports avoiding eye injuries.
School is back and I know many parents, like me, have started to breath a bit easier. With school resuming many sports, are also swinging back into action. I know that soccer and netball are about to commence for the season ahead.
I love that my kids play team sports, as I believe that it is great for them to be able to understand how to work well within a team dynamic and get active outside. But while they are playing or training, I want them to be as safe as possible.
So along with their shin pads and soccer boots, they need to wear their sports goggles. This is so that I don’t need to be concerned about accidental eye injuries, from body parts of the ball. I would love them to wear helmets too, to protect their brains but I am still working on that one.
For netball the only protective piece of equipment I know of, is a visor, which helps a little in the way of sun protection. But will not protect their eyes against UV damage or accidental eye injuries.
To be able to enjoy watching your child play their chosen sport and not be concerned about their vision. You need to consider having eye protection designed for their designated sport.
