The reason that this website was set up, was due to a repeated request for good quality safety glasses for children. Many parents and schools were sick of the quality and range of safety glasses available.  They wanted something that would fit their child and provide medium impact protection, to Australian Standards 1337.1.

The people who were asking for the safety glasses for their kids, as they followed them into the workshop and saw them don their safety glasses, before starting work and wanted to be able to give the same level of protection to their kids.

The other deciding factor was the exposure to preventable eye injuries and not just in adults. I have had children come straight from school to the practice on many occasions, after damaging the surface of their eyes. Luckily, all of these injuries have been repairable and no long lasting damage has been observed in the children that have presented.

That being said, there have been quite a few young adults that have only vision in one eye due to an ‘accident’. Be it and accident occurring during sport, play or an genuine accident. The result was the same; they could no longer use one of their eyes. Which means that they no longer have depth perception and have more difficulty getting around and driving due to the lack of one whole visual field.
